Know a website that feels like it belongs on the early web? A personal homepage, a fan site about something obscure, a hand-coded shrine to someone's favorite hobby? We'd love to see it.
What makes a good submission?
- Personal homepages and about-me pages
- Hobbyist and fan sites about niche topics
- Simple HTML sites with minimal JavaScript
- Sites with webrings, guestbooks, visitor counters
- Encyclopedic pages about someone's favorite subject
- Retro-styled sites made in the spirit of the early web
What we don't include
We don't accept Wayback Machine links (web.archive.org) or other archived snapshots. We love that the Internet Archive preserves these pages, but this directory is for living sites. We want to link you to places where someone is still keeping the lights on, updating their guestbook, or just quietly letting their site exist on a server they pay for. A frozen copy isn't the same thing. If the original is still up somewhere, submit that instead!
Note: We review all submissions by hand. Not every site will be added, but we appreciate every suggestion!
